How much will this charge cost? It’s a question every driver asks when plugging into a new station, and every decision-maker asks when considering equipping their parking lot. On the Qovoltis network, the answer is simple: you pay for the kWh consumed at the rate displayed before charging, plus a €2 connection fee depending on the payment method. For an employee or a hotel guest, it’s a predictable amount. For a business or establishment, it’s a rate that is easy to explain to teams and customers alike.
The Qovoltis rate: a price per kWh, with fees depending on the channel
At a Qovoltis station, you can pay in four ways: the Qovoltis app, an RFID card, the Scan to Charge QR code displayed on the station, or a third-party app like Chargemap. The price of energy is the same across the three Qovoltis channels (excluding Gold subscription). Only the connection fees vary.
Charging price by payment channel
This is the most common rate for Qovoltis customers, though it may vary by site. The SYDER network applies its own pricing: see the SYDER network rate card
Example for a larger charge: a 50 kWh charge costs €24.50 via the Scan to Charge QR code, and €26.50 via the Qovoltis app without a subscription (Open offer) or with an RFID card, connection fees included. With the Gold subscription on the Qovoltis app, the same charge comes to between €22.05 and €22.54, saving you about €4 to €4.45 compared to the Open offer.
Where to check the price before starting a charge
On the Qovoltis app. Select the station: the rate per kWh is displayed before you start charging.
Via the Scan to charge QR code. Scan the code displayed on the charging station. The payment page will show the price per kWh before you confirm. A €40 pre-authorization hold is released once charging is complete: only the amount actually consumed is charged.
Chargemap and third-party operators: pricing set by the operator
If you pay using Chargemap or another mobility operator's app, that operator sets the price, not Qovoltis. They may include their own service fees. The applicable rate is displayed in their app when you start the charge.
Businesses equipped with Qockpit: pricing set by the company
A company that owns its charging stations and manages them via Qockpit sets the price per kWh charged to its employees or visitors itself and can adjust it at any time from the platform. On these stations, the rate may therefore differ from the grid above.
Third-party investment: who sets the price, and how?
In the third-party investment model, Qovoltis finances, installs, and operates the charging stations. The establishment makes no investment. In return, Qovoltis sets the rate applied to users, as Qovoltis bears the commercial risk of the equipment. The establishment receives a commission of 5 to 10% on each charging session. The full process is detailed in our article on third-party investment for hotel charging stations.
A price per kWh that stays the same all day
The price per kWh does not depend on the time you plug in: a charge started at 9 a.m. costs the same per kWh as a charge started at 11 p.m. Employees or hotel guests don't need to worry about peak or off-peak hours to save money. For the establishment, it means fewer questions at the front desk: there is only one rate to explain, regardless of when the guest arrives.
Time spent at the station is never billed
On some public networks, idle fees are added after a certain amount of parking time, even when the battery is full. On Qovoltis stations, these fees do not exist, regardless of the payment method: once the battery is charged, your vehicle can remain plugged in without any extra charges. Only the kWh consumed are billed, plus a potential €2 connection fee when using the Qovoltis app without a subscription (Open offer) or the RFID card—a fixed amount per session that does not depend on the duration.
In practical terms:
- an employee who plugs in upon arriving at the office can leave their vehicle until the evening;
- a hotel guest charges overnight and picks up their car at breakfast;
- a camper leaves their vehicle at the charging station for several days.
In all three cases, the bill depends on the kWh actually consumed (plus any €2 connection fee, depending on the payment method), never on the time spent at the station.

FAQ
How much does it cost to charge at a Qovoltis station?
The most common rate at Qovoltis stations is €0.49/kWh. For a typical 22 kWh session, charging costs €10.78 via the Scan to charge QR code, and €12.78 via the Qovoltis app or RFID card without a subscription, which adds a €2 connection fee. Time spent at the station is never billed.
Is the charging price the same at all Qovoltis stations?
No. The most common rate is €0.49/kWh, but it may vary depending on the location. With the Gold subscription, the price per kWh is reduced by 8 to 10%. At company sites equipped with Qockpit, the company sets its own rate. When using Chargemap or another third-party operator, that operator sets the price.
Is a subscription required?
No, a subscription is optional. Without a subscription, the Open plan applies the price per kWh plus a €2 connection fee per session. The Gold subscription, available in the Qovoltis app for €20/month, removes connection fees and reduces the price per kWh by 8 to 10%, even when using your RFID card. For a 22 kWh charge, Gold saves you approximately €2.90 to €3.10: the subscription becomes cost-effective from about 7 charges per month.
What happens if I stay plugged in after my charge is finished?
Nothing extra is charged. Qovoltis does not apply any inactivity fees or penalties related to the time spent parked at the station.
Why is there a €40 pre-authorization with Scan to charge?
It guarantees payment for the session before it begins. It is not a charge: it is released once charging is complete, and only the amount actually consumed is debited.
